Terms

Terms

Using TakenYet means accepting the terms on this page. In short: the tool generates name ideas and reports what registries say about domain availability at the moment you ask. It does not reserve, register or sell domains, it cannot promise a name is available by the time you get to a registrar, and it cannot tell you whether a name is free of trademark conflicts.

Acceptable use

Use the service for its purpose: naming a business, product or project. Do not scrape or automate it outside the documented interface, do not resell access or rebadge the output as your own naming service, do not attempt to defeat the search limits by rotating accounts or addresses, and do not use it to generate names intended to imitate an existing brand. Accounts that break these rules may be limited or closed. Plan limits are described on the pricing page.

Availability is a point-in-time answer

This is the disclaimer that matters most for this product. An availability result is a single live lookup against the registry, accurate at the instant it was performed and nothing more. A domain shown as available can be registered by someone else seconds or minutes later, including while you are still reading the results. TakenYet does not hold, reserve, pre-register or option any domain on your behalf, and searching for a name here does not give you any claim to it. Register through a registrar promptly if a name matters to you. How the lookups work is explained in how it works.

Registry data can also be incomplete or temporarily unreachable. Where a lookup fails or returns an ambiguous answer, the result is marked as unknown rather than guessed. Always confirm at the registrar before you commit money or a launch date to a name.

No warranty on names or trademarks

Generated names are machine output. TakenYet makes no representation that any name is original, unregistered as a trademark, free of conflicting business names, or safe to use in your jurisdiction or industry. Domain availability and trademark availability are different things, and a free domain says nothing about either. Trademark clearance is your responsibility, and a qualified attorney is the right person to do it. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind.

Brand kit licensing

The logo files and colour palettes generated for you are yours to use commercially, with no attribution required and no fee. Fonts are a separate matter: they are not ours to relicense. Every typeface offered in a kit is free for commercial use under its own licence, either an OFL or Apache licence for Google Fonts faces or the ITF Free Font License for Fontshare faces, and your use of a font is governed by that licence. Download fonts from their original source and read the licence that comes with them.

Subscriptions and cancellation

Payments are handled by Stripe. The Naming pack is a one-time purchase of search credits; credits do not expire and stay on the account. Pro is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, after which the account returns to the free tier and keeps its credits, saved names and history. Daily and monthly search allowances reset per period and do not carry over. Plan details, prices and search counts are on the pricing page. To cancel Pro, use the billing link on your account page. To ask about a refund, email support@takenyet.com.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TakenYet is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business opportunity, rebranding costs, or the cost of a domain that was registered by someone else after you saw it listed as available. Total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, which for free accounts is zero.
